Welcome to Maize Restaurant! We are a small BYOB located in the heart of historic Perkasie, PA, about an hour north of Philadelphia. Since we opened our doors in 2008, Executive Chef/Owner Matt McPhelin and family have been crafting and perfecting a dining experience like no other. We welcome you to Maize with a fresh bowl of our signature popcorn and our secret recipe biscuits fresh out of the oven. Every dish features the finest foods that our local farms and purveyors have to offer: high quality meats, wild caught day-boat fish and shellfish from the North Atlantic, produce picked at the height of its freshness, and local aged cheeses. We pair them with masterfully crafted sauces, freshly baked desserts, and other baked goods. Bring your family, a few of your favorite bottles of wine, relax, and we'll do the rest. “This was my first visit to Maize, but hopefully not my last. From start to finish, the meal was incredibly thoughtful—the perfect way to kick off my bday weekend with girlfriends. I mean, any dinner service that begins with a scratch biscuit and popcorn is bound to be good, but it just kept getting better from there. The menu changes based on what’s fresh and available locally, so you may not be lucky enough to have this same meal, but I bet it will taste just as good. We enjoyed salmon, shrimp creole, duck, rhubarb cake and ice cream, plus a few other surprises like the Cabernet shaved ice (wow). The chef even sent over extra duck for my friend who isn’t a huge fan of seafood. We all ate very well. The restaurant was much smaller than expected, but it added to its charm. Love that everything from the food to the dinnerware and even the chef’s counter are sourced locally. Their commitment to sustainability is genuine and woven into every part of the experience.”
“Shared a wonderful meal with friends from Doylestown last night. The attention to detail is second to none. Starting with the warm bread to start with honey butter up until the final dessert — every course was stellar. The smoked brisket ravioli was a show stopper for me personally. It’s great to see a family working together and watching Matt, MJ & Liam working alongside each other was great! Our server Carl did a fantastic job as well. We are planning a return visit very soon!”
“I am eating here at the moment. The service is amazing. The food is delicious. The chefs are absolute rock stars. My wife and I ran out of red wine and they brought us some more out of the personal stash on the house. One of the chefs brought me out extra bison. Highly recommend. They are AMAZING.”

Our service and food was impeccable by Matt, Breanna, MJ and Austin. Everything we had was spectacular not only the presentation but the freshness and the flavor of the ingredients was delicious. “We went for my birthday dinner mid-June. I had heard nothing but rave reviews from several friends. I am a cook, and admittedly difficult when I eat out. First of all it was packed and extremely noisy. We had a very loud table next to us, unfortunately. We did the tasting menu with wines for this special dinner. I have to admit that the quality of the food was outstanding, with tremendous effort and attention to the food, but absolutely nothing that night wowed us. I know that the menu changes regularly so it might have been just the selection that night, but not one dish had those really exciting flavors i look for when I eat out. The sauces lacked herbs or just that special punch. Everything was very good. Nothing was exceptional, except for the quality, but i cook that same quality local meats and fresh vegetables regularly at home. The scone at the beginning was delightful, but I didn’t want to fill up on bread with this big dinner coming. The popcorn had almost no flavor. The bison was very tender. The fish was cooked perfectly but nothing had any special, memorable flavors. The service was excellent. Everyone tried very hard but it unfortunately fell short for me.”
