“Absolutely enjoyed our experience here! We ordered the Adobo Fried Rice, Green Curry Chicken, Sushi and Kalbi Beef, most were recommended by our server Nic. They were all so good. This may now be our go-to spot to eat at the Village.”
“Mother Tongue in Blue Mountain is one of the best Asian fusion restaurants we’ve discovered in the area. We came for a late lunch date on a Saturday around 3–5 PM, and it was absolutely perfect. At that hour the restaurant was calm and quiet (we were told evenings get very busy), which made it ideal for a relaxed date. The service was exceptional — the staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and great at recommending dishes. You could clearly tell the team takes pride in the food and the guest experience. The restaurant design is beautiful — an old house with vaulted wooden beams, lots of space, and elegant velvet curved booths. Sitting by the window made the atmosphere even better. Food highlights: • Pickled ginger & Asian cabbage salad – bright, refreshing, and perfectly balanced • Bulgogi short rib – incredibly tender and full of flavour • Pad Thai with house-made tamarind – a unique interpretation that exceeded expectations If you’re visiting Blue Mountain Village and looking for a great Asian fusion restaurant or a date night spot, Mother Tongue is a must-try. Fantastic food, great service, and a beautiful atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back.”
“It’s an Asian restaurant with a very nice atmosphere and beautiful location. The best part of the restaurant is definitely the outdoor patio seating. The patio faces the lake, and the view is absolutely amazing, especially during good weather. They also have indoor seating if you prefer sitting inside. The servers were polite, friendly, and attentive, and the service was good throughout our visit. The restaurant is a little expensive, but that’s understandable considering it’s located in a tourist area like Blue Mountain. One thing they could improve is adding more umbrellas or shaded areas on the patio. On sunny days, if your table is not under an umbrella, it can get very hot sitting outside. More shade coverage would make the outdoor experience much more comfortable. Overall, it’s a lovely place to enjoy Asian food with a relaxing lakeside view and good service. Worth visiting for the ambiance and patio experience.”
“I got the Lobster & Scallop XO, which was good but spicy (the server did warn me it had a some spice, but it was still too much for someone who doesn't eat spicy). I tried some of the Cantonese Chow Mein, which was good but also spicy (not warned about that one). The workers were nice and service fairly quick, but wish that we were warned about the Chow Mein spice. It's a nice spot for dinner on the patio. It wasn't busy when we went and the seagulls were taking advantage of unattended plates!”
“First visit here with my family for my birthday. The ambiance was cozy, and the restaurant itself was spacious inside. The prices were reasonable for the portion sizes. We started with the Lumpia / Filipino Spring Rolls (carrots, cabbage, chestnut, corn, sweet chili sauce), which were alright but nothing too exciting. The portion was a little disappointing though. The menu states 6 pieces, but it was actually 3 rolls cut in half. I ordered the Fried Chicken Fried Rice (buttermilk chive dressing, gochujang BBQ sauce, house togarashi, black sesame), which was delicious overall. However, the rice itself was a bit dry, almost as if it had been sitting in the pan a little too long. My mother started with the Miso Tofu Soup (kombu dashi, shiro miso, silken tofu) and found the miso flavour lacking. For her main, she ordered the Lobster & Scallop XO (brown butter poached lobster, crab & bay scallops, grilled corn, crispy onion, fried rice, XO sauce). Unfortunately, there was very little lobster, and she found the dish a bit too oily for her liking. My dad and grandma both ordered the Korean Wagyu Smashburger (double patty, cheddar, gochujang mayo, shredded lettuce, pickles), one with fries and one with salad. The portions were great, and they both really enjoyed their meals. I also ordered the Manila Sour (Suntory Toki, Crown Royal, lemon, calamansi, simple syrup, egg white, red wine float), which was absolutely delicious. Our server, Sabrina, was fantastic. Attentive, kind, and welcoming throughout the meal. Overall, it was a good first experience, and I would definitely come back to try other items on the menu, maybe just not the lumpia.”
