“We stumbled onto something really special here! Last night’s “pizzakase” tasting menu was exceptional; essentially, it’s a gourmet tour of different styles of Italian pizza balanced with some unique small plates in between. Each course was crafted with the utmost care and we really loved watching the creators of our meal at work. You can tell that each ingredient is carefully chosen - these are not your typical pizzas. From carefully crafted uni butter to local cheese, these are cooked with precision and every detail is thought out. The atmosphere is perfect for a date night and the wine selection is small but carefully curated to enhance the meal. The Chef made us feel like invited guests and we can’t wait to return!”
“Mission Pizza is a special dining experience. The food is curated meticulously and it shows. I’ve dined there many times over the years and have always admired the dedication to the craft. This recent experience was for a milestone birthday. I chose MPN because I’m a Taurus and we like comfort and food, both boxes were immediately checked. It began with an ice cold paper plane at the bar while waiting for the final member of the party to arrive. I celebrated with 3 dear friends and we chose the prix fixe menu for dinner. We were presented with a delicious salad, a side dish of cannellini beans, a mouth watering “hunter-style” chicken, a deep fried pizza (yes I said a deep fried pizza-whoa!), pasta with lemon and sardines, and finished off with a perfect dessert: Panna cotta paired with pistachios, strawberries, and rosemary. The staff were all friendly and attentive and the drinks from the bar were excellent. If you like to eat well and luxuriously, dine here. Trust the chef’s vision and you won’t be disappointed. If you leave hungry, that’s on you.”
“Best pizza I've had in the Southeast and it's not even close. Salads are wonderful too, and so are the small plates. Curated wine selection that fits the cuisine perfectly. We have driven from Raleigh just to go here multiple times. Almost glad it isn't closer or we'd be there twice a week. Nope, it's not your hole in the wall joint where you pick all the toppings. Who cares. Trust the chef. Let someone who KNOWS make you something you never knew you always wanted, and enjoy one of the best things you can put in your mouth.”
“My Husband and I had the Pizzakase on Valentine’s Day. It was 8 courses and all were so delicious! I highly recommend! The pizza crust alone is easily the best I’ve ever had. I can’t ever eat commercial pizza again. Reading some of the other reviews, I think some people didn’t know what to expect . It’s not your typical pizza place. We sat at the counter where we saw the food being prepared. I feel like the made the experience even more fun.”
“I had high hopes when coming across Misson Pizza as an option for my anniversary. Upon arrival I was a bit surprised by the lack of atmosphere and welcoming from the staff. I simply shrugged it off because I’m sure the restaurant would make up for it in other ways. However other than the pizza dough itself, everything was average. Especially the very undercooked pasta. We originally wanted to split a pasta dish and then split a pizza afterwards. We were informed that it’s required to put all the dishes in at the same time. That response reinforces the restaurant doesn’t value the customers. If you’re looking for a nice intimate dinner I can promise you this is not the place. Great place if you want to grab a casual (expensive) plate and simply enjoy what they have to offer. Definitely a standard pizzeria…disregard what the website says.”
