“The food at this restaurant is top notch. Above and beyond most all KC restaurants. We had a lovely dinner. We started with butternut squash soup and tartare. Both were so good, it was insane. For dinner we had scallops and the lamb, just INCREDIBLE. Everything on our plates was just delicious. I'm quite sure no matter what you ordered.It would be perfect. It just top of the top notch restaurants.”

“Amazing experience. Top notch food and service from top to bottom. we were recommended this restaurant via wine rep and did not disappoint. Chef Ryan and his team are impeccable, from the presentation of the dishes through and through to the flavors. The wines accomplished the dishes so well everything sang in harmony together. As a chef looking for an experience this was it. Novel hit every mark i was hoping for, from food to wine and hospitality alone. Their hospitality in our unfortunate night was top tier as well. Thank you to the kictchen staff and our server Trey as well. Top notch service, food, cocktails and wine program. You’re missing out by not dining at this establishment.”

“A very cute and quaint little place. Food was amazing and so were the drinks! We tried the polenta appetizer, a pasta dish and the halibut. Not pictures is the bread and their delicious butter & hummus and we also got a taster of the crab bisque and a salad. They do spread dishes out a bit so you do not feel rushed which is nice.”

“Stopped in during KC Restaurant week. This was our first time here. We were warmly greeted upon entry and sat promptly. Our server Shelby was great. The course selections for this menu were varied and should appeal to most people. The space is nice and energetic. We will return for their regular menu.”

“Meal: Bread Service, Agnolotti, Ravioli, Lamb Chop and Sausage, Chicken Roulade Drinks: Sun of a Gun, Back in My Day The meal started off very strong with the bread service with butter and hummus. The hummus was served with olive oil and spices and was our favorite thing of the night. The pasta courses were very good. The agnolotti was seasoned well and the ravioli had a nice smokey flavor with walnuts. I wish we had stopped the meal there. The main courses were the worst we've had in Kansas City. The lamb was undercooked to the point where the outside was seared nicely but the internal temperature was not warm. The lamb sausage was cold and looked like they pulled it from the fridge and threw it on the grill for ten seconds. The best thing on the plate was the cucumber gaufrette, and really that translates to pickles. The roulade was not a traditional roulade and probably shouldn't use the term in its name at all. It was chicken breast with a sausage-like filling. The risotto was made with long grain white rice which threw the entire texture off. The broccoli on the plate was cooked well. Drinks were fine. Will not revisit and will not recommend. Feels outdated and uncreative. (Included photos of the pasta because they were very nice.)”
