Buccan is Chef Clay Conley’s flagship — a neighborhood restaurant with a world-class soul. The menu is built around bold, globally inspired small plates meant for sharing, made with the best ingredients we can find and the same care we’d cook with at home. Dinner here feels easy — refined but relaxed, lively but never loud.
“Homerun !! Service (thank you Mohi) was exceptional, like none other. Food was exquisite. Dined with my famiky, total 5 of us, and we each tried something different. Again, thank you Mohi, assistant servers, manager and whoever I forgot to compliment. Check out the pics..We went overboard with wine/appetizers/deserts, hence the over $100 per person price spent. One can do for much less.”
“Ordering online for pick up was a breeze! Super quick and seamless. We ordered the Beef Carpaccio, Steak Bomb and the Cold Italian! All were delicious. The Half Half drink was delicious as well! The cookie reminded me of Cry Baby Creamery’s chocolate chip cookie, which is great because I LOVE their cookie! Overall this was a great lunch and I’m happy it’s closer to home now!”
“The long wait is over. The highly anticipated opening of Buccan, the wildly popular Palm Beach favorite, has finally arrived. Chef Clay Conley was in the kitchen and there was a lot of excitement surrounding last night's May 22 opening. It was well deserved... the place is fantastic! The Palm Beach location has always had a great atmosphere... casually sophisticated, a bit tighter, and more bustling. They've turned things up a few notches here in Coral Gables. This is a much larger venue with multiple spaces and a beautifully executed design that feels polished and metropolitan. The large bar is beautiful, inviting... the open kitchen is spacious, the dining rooms flow seamlessly into one another, and the lighting is dramatic... almost theatrical. It's a perfect backdrop for the fine chow and libations that are about to come. The menu closely mirrors Palm Beach, featuring familiar favorites like Tuna Crisps, Duck Confit, the Hot Dog Panini, Grilled Wagyu Short Ribs, and more, with dishes rotating throughout the seasons. Tonight, I started with the Florida Corn Tart with aged Beemster, tomatillo, and basil corn salad... fantastic. The Short Rib Empanada remains a favorite, packed with richly flavored short rib. The Sweet Corn Agnolotti is an absolute must... perfectly prepared pasta with a silky-smooth ricotta filling and intensely sweet corn. OMG. My first time trying the Wood-Grilled Half Chicken with charred cabbage slaw, peanuts, coconut rice, and jeow som dipping sauce. Don't overlook this dish. The chicken was perfectly cooked... moist, deeply flavorful, and very impressive. For dessert, the Olive Oil Cake with crème anglaise and seasonal fruit was excellent. While this was the restaurant's first night open to the public, the kitchen was already firing on all cylinders... every dish landed perfectly. The wines by the glass are well chosen, and the wine list has plenty of gems. Service from Christian was top-notch... a seasoned pro. His assistant, Jeff, also did an excellent job. In fact, every staff member we encountered, from the moment we entered until we departed, was impressive. For a restaurant to already be operating this smoothly on opening night is a real tribute to Chef Conley and his management team. But after witnessing the excellence Buccan has delivered for the last 15 years in Palm Beach... it's not entirely unexpected. Buccan Coral Gables seems destined to become every bit as successful as its northern neighbor. VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED”
“My friend had me try this sandwich in West Palm and I was instantly hooked. They just recently opened in the Gables as well as the actual restaurant. The sandwich shop is a window outside where you place an order literally on the sidewalk and then your name is called to be picked up by the window, all outside in the Miami Heat which is why I give it a 3 star on ambiance. I wish or hope that they’ll add a few tables outside with umbrellas or maybe a small space inside just for the people picking up the sandos. The lunch box is $25 but it’s all worth the price and the hype. Box comes with sandwich, pickle, chips, chocolate chips cookie and a soda of your choice. I opted for the carpaccio sandwich which is the one I tried in West Palm with the balsamic and crispy onions and I can’t say enough good things about how delicious this sandwich is. The carpaccio is of highest quality and freshness. The bread is perfect too. All the ingredients complement one another well. It’s a perfect sandwich to be honest. I have to come back to try a few other sandos and definitely swing by the actual restaurant for a full sit down experience.”
“Vibes are impeccable! Very elevated casual spot. Highlights were the sweet corn angoletti and the short ribs. We also tried the carrot cake which was everything the Buccan fans raved about. Appetizers fell incredibly short of the rest of the meal (tuna and Duck pancakes) they were very flat in flavor. Pancakes were chewy, the sauce in the duck very one note. The tuna was a plentiful portion, but not bright with citrus at all - wouldn't recommend either. Service was great for Miami, however our server continually came over to try and have small talk with us - to the point he'd interrupt our conversation. This happened numerous times. It's better than the latter but still not ideal. Overall Buccan was a nice dinner. Will crave the short ribs and angoletti. Would venture out on the menu to try other apps.”
