Benvenuti Nella Mia Cucina, Belli De Nonna! Before we dive into the delicious feast prepared for you, let me give you a little taste of my vita. I was born in the heart of Rome, and I've been cooking up a storm my entire life! My cucina has always been the center of the universe for my 3 daughters, 5 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, their friends, loved ones, and acquaintances – everyone was always Benvenuto! Now, we've brought that same love and flavor right here to San Diego. My beloved grandson, Niccolo', and his amore, Cesarina, are opening the doors of my Cucina with the same warm heart and passion. Wondering how I made it to 95? Well, it's simple: I ate everything that's served here and filled my life with amore! So, Benvenuti! Don't hesitate to indulge in "Scarpetta" - dip that bread into the sauce, just like my grandchildren used to do at the stove when they thought I wasn't looking. Here, Belli De Nonna, it’s all about food, family, and creating beautiful memories!
“Went for our sons college graduation. We loved it ! Prices are a bit steep. Expect roughly $40 a person. Atmosphere is phenomenal, food is ... no words ah-mazing ! Would we go again , yes and recommend you go at least once Great date spot!”
“Absolutely obsessed with this place. The food tasted genuinely homemade in the best possible way, every dish was insanely good and you can tell so much care goes into everything they make. The staff was beyond friendly and made the whole experience feel so welcoming from start to finish. On top of that, the restaurant itself is SO cute, the decor and design are beautiful and make the atmosphere feel cozy but still elevated. Officially my new favorite Italian restaurant in San Diego.”
“We stopped in after we saw the raving reviews online and were blown away. First of all, the atmosphere is incredible. You feel like you walked into an Italian home in the 70s. We didn’t have a reservation and on a Tuesday, were able to be sat within 10 minutes. It feels cozy and everything about the decor is intentional. The food felt nostalgic and home-cooked. We got the caprese salad and Arrabbiata pizza, both delicious. Our server Josh was awesome in every way and we’re so glad we got to dine here before we left the city.”
“First time dining at Elvira OB and wow what an experience. Even on a busy Friday night, they made us feel like family from the moment we walked in. 🤌 Our server Nick was an absolute gem. Since it was our first visit, he took the time to walk us through the menu and helped us land on the perfect lineup of apps, pizza, and pasta. Everything was coursed out flawlessly, which made the whole meal feel intentional and relaxed rather than rushed. What really stood out was how attentive he was while also managing the entire back patio. He checked in often, kept the vibe light with some well-timed jokes, and somehow made it all look effortless. He also went off-menu to recommend cocktails that matched my mezcal palate perfectly—which was a huge win. And the dessert… incredible. His recommendation of the deconstructed cheesecake (torta ricotta) absolutely delivered—my wife loved it. delizioso, metabolism. Can’t wait to come back. 5 stars all the way.”
“We had the best team dinner at Elvira and such a wonderful experience from start to finish! The atmosphere is beautiful, the food was incredible, and everything felt so thoughtfully curated. Andreea, our server, truly made the night. She was so fun, warm, and attentive, and brought the best energy to our table. You can tell she genuinely loves what she does and wants everyone to have a great time. She made the whole evening feel extra special and memorable for our team. Highly recommend Elvira for a group dinner, celebration, or just a fun night out. We’ll absolutely be back!”
