Located at Georgetown's Washington Harbor, we are a farmer-owned restaurant open 365 days a year. After recent renovations in 2024, our lively dining room and heated patio provide an inviting space for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and our weekend Farmers Market Buffet Brunch. Our scratch-made menu, featuring high-quality ingredients from trusted farmers, includes seafood, sushi, pizzas, tacos, and desserts. Enjoy classic and tiki cocktails crafted with spirits from our Founding Spirits distillery. Our space accommodates private parties, and our patio-equipped with fans, heaters, and waterfront views-is open year-round. Guided by our "Through The Eyes Of The FarmerTM" mission, we care for our guests, community, and planet.
“I've been to all Founding Farmers locations in the DC/MD area. This one is in a beautiful location, along the Washington Harbour. We enjoyed the weekend breakfast buffet - highly recommend! It's pricey (around $38/person) which is pretty standard for the area, but there are so many options on the buffet (lunch & breakfast). Our waitress, Charlise, was INCREDIBLE!! So friendly, knowledgeable, & attentive. Couldn't have had a better experience, will definitely return when I'm in the area again.”
“Highly recommend making reservations. The outdoor area is basically full sun with no shade so wear sunscreen or a big hat if you plan to sit outside in the afternoon. Service was really great. We spent much more than anticipated but of the four of us, everyone ordered a cocktail (which were great). The appetizers were delicious and everyone enjoyed their food. My fish and chips were OK but I would have liked better if the skin/fried outside didn’t slip off so easily. Also, not a fan of the fries. I wouldn’t order that again. I might just order appetizers next time.”
“This was a true gem! If you are looking for fresh, made-to-order, flavorful food, THIS IS IT! Our exceptional server, Kiki, was wonderful. She let us try the house-made Maple Bourbon and gave excellent recommendations, from food to beverages. The amount of knowledge Kiki had about the farmers and locally sourced food was amazing. We tried so many options: crab spinach artichoke dip, chicken wings, sushi pizza, clam chowder, and salad. For pizza lovers or kids, I suggest the classic pizza option: shredded pepperoni and fresh mozzarella cheese. Everything is really, really good.”
“Stopped in for a quick lunch and it was great as always. Jan was my server and took really good care of me, super friendly and attentive. I had the garlic soy wings, spinach and artichoke dip, and a pub cheeseburger, forgot to take a photo of the burger. The wings were perfect and the house made ranch is always so good. Everything was flavorful and hit the spot. Always a good time there.”
“We visited this restaurant during our trip to Washington, DC. The Rockfish was excellent and definitely the highlight of the meal. The dip was also very tasty and well prepared. Unfortunately, the Crab Cakes were disappointing and did not meet our expectations. The fries were especially disappointing and were probably the weakest part of the meal. I would also like to mention our experience at check-in. The young woman with glasses at the host stand was not very welcoming. Although there were better seating options available, we were initially offered a hot outdoor table and then a table indoors that was not very clean and located directly under a strong air-conditioning vent, making it uncomfortable to sit there. Only after we politely asked again were we assisted by another staff member, who kindly found us a much better table. We appreciate his help and professionalism. Overall, the Rockfish and the dip were very enjoyable, but the service at arrival and some of the food items could be improved.”
