Located in the heart of Mayfair, Lucky Cat by Gordon Ramsay is a vibrant Asian eating house and bar, inspired by the drinking clubs of 1930s Tokyo and Shanghai. Featuring bold, seasonal small plates, sushi, and robata-grilled dishes, the menu celebrates precision and flavour. With striking interiors, a buzzing open kitchen, and expertly crafted cocktails, it’s an immersive and stylish experience in one of London’s most prestigious neighbourhoods.
“I had a magical time at Lucky Cat Mayfair! As soon as I arrived, Harmony greeted me with a smile and made me feel at ease in an environment that is unfamiliar to me (being my first time at a Gordon Ramsay restaurant, or any restaurant of the sort). I was seated at the sushi counter, which was fascinating - I love getting to watch chef's do what they do best. The atmosphere in Lucky Cat was very calm, and made me comfortable even though I was dining alone. Food-wise, I ordered 3 small plates and the chocolate truffles after. All of the above were wonderful and filling, especially the mushroom dumplings (they were to die for). The 'Ureshii' cocktail was interesting but tasted really good - happiness is correct! If you're wanting a treat, I would highly recommend you visit Lucky Cat. I think it would be the perfect location for a date, or to take friends. I will be back, thanks all :)”
“I chose Lucky Cat Mayfair for my birthday dinner and I had the best experience! From the moment we arrived, my friends and I felt looked after, welcomed and valued. The service was prompt, attentive and warm. The food was amazing. We opted for the Journey tasting menu. Personal highlights were the beef tataki with truffles and the hokkaido French toast which was the perfect treat to finish the meal. Very good value for money. We were all stuffed by the end. The atmosphere really brought everything together. Great music which really suited the place, stylish and also relaxed. It was a truly memorable evening, and we all left feeling happy and satisfied!”
“We had such a fantastic experience at Lucky Cat Mayfair! We came as a party of 7 for my friend’s birthday! She absolutely loved it and had an incredible time! The food was absolutely amazing—every dish was full of flavour and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was just as impressive, with a vibrant yet relaxed vibe that made the whole evening feel special. Inside was beautifully decorated high end aesthetics. A special shoutout to our waitress, Meida, who took excellent care of us throughout the night. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure everything ran smoothly. The hosts were also incredibly welcoming and made us feel well looked after from the moment we arrived.”
“I had very high expectations for Lucky Cat, and while some dishes were good , the experience was a bit mixed overall. The Wagyu nigiri was niceand definitely one of the highlights of the meal. Unfortunately, the short rib was heavily oversalted, and that’s coming from someone who genuinely enjoys salty food, often more than most people do. The lamb cutlets were good, but nothing particularly memorable. The GFC (Gordon’s Fried Chicken) had great flavor, but surprisingly lacked the crispiness I was expecting from a fried chicken dish. The dessert was beautifully executed and packed with flavor. However, it was very generously soaked in sake, so anyone who doesn’t enjoy the taste of alcohol might find it a little overpowering. One thing that truly stood out was the service. The staff were professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming throughout the evening. Their excellent hospitality definitely elevated the overall experience and helped make up for some of the shortcomings of the food. Overall, there were some standout dishes and the service was fantastic, but considering the reputation and expectations, the meal didn’t quite wow me as much as I had hoped.”
“What a remarkable view and decor … and unfortunately, that’s where the positive experience ended. We are honeymooning in England from the United States and wanted have a celebratory dinner at Gordon Ramsay’s Lucky Cat restaurant. We made our reservations 6 weeks ago. After going through security and making our way upstairs, we were seated at the bar. We waited about 15 minutes before we had to ask for someone could take our drink order. I ordered a piña colada, served in a fun cat-shaped glass, and my husband ordered a mojito. My piña colada was so strong that I politely asked for a little pineapple juice to balance it out, but I was simply told no. After waiting another 15 minutes, we searched out a server and asked if we could order dinner. That’s when we were informed that the bar only serves from the bar menu. We had read on Open Table that we could enjoy the full dinner menu while seated there. My husband even called the restaurant and asked if we could eat dinner in the bar and they said yes. The bar menu consisted primarily of sushi, which wasn’t an option because my husband has a seafood allergy. Despite explaining the situation, we were not allowed to order from the regular menu. They offered to send us to the restaurant downstairs, but we wanted to experience the Lucky Cat. We paid for our drinks and left. This was supposed to be our special honeymoon dinner, and it was incredibly disappointing. We can’t review the food because we never had the opportunity to try it, but we can certainly review the service. It was some of the poorest service we’ve ever experienced. We felt completely invisible, despite being seated right in front of the DJ. Whenever we visit a city with a Gordon Ramsay restaurant, it’s always a highlight of our trip. Sadly, this experience has changed that tradition. We have never felt so unwelcome or so poorly treated at a restaurant. A once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon dinner turned into one of the biggest disappointments of our trip.”
