“⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Mastro’s in Washington D.C. delivered one of the most incredible fine-dining experiences we’ve ever had! From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us warmly at the front door and took absolutely amazing care of us the entire night. Our waiter Ren is always exceptional — attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. When we had a little spill, they instantly changed the entire tablecloth with zero fuss. That level of service is unmatched! The food was next-level. We started with the Wagyu roll, Wagyu carpaccio with extra arugula, and fried calamari — all flawless. The 7 oz American Wagyu fillet and lobster tail were show-stoppers, alongside the Norwegian cold water salmon. Sides like the creamy mac & cheese, broccolini, and potatoes were perfect. We washed it all down with classic Old Fashioneds, refreshing Aperol Spritzes, and five glass-bottle Coca-Colas. We finished with both the chocolate sin cake and chocolate layer cake — pure decadence. Talk about a meal! Everything was outstanding in flavor, presentation, and quality. Mastro’s is pure excellence. We’ll be back every time we’re in D.C. Highly, highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐”

“On a random Monday night, upon arriving, we didn’t have a reservation, but they still accommodated me and my boyfriend! The host was very helpful as well as our server. I had the Calamari as a starter, it was very tasteful! Then for my entree, I had their 8oz steak with the mac and cheese and creamed spinach. The steak was very flavorful and cooked to perfection! The mac and cheese was very cheesy, I loved it! I would love it even more if it was just a tad more seasoned along with the creamed spinach. I wasn’t too much of a fan of the spinach but it was still delicious. For my dessert, I was surprised by my boyfriend, and the kitchen made a special fudge design for my boyfriend to ask me to be his girlfriend. I chose my dessert (The butter cake), which was recommended by my server. I wasnt a big fan of the butter cake either, but again everything was still delicious! I also had some drinks, we had this berry drink and were able to substitute the original alcohol drink with a different alcohol inside of the berry drink and it was so good! the My overall experience here was one i’ll always remember! I also loved the live singer, she sounded amazing and the decor! I really had a luxurious experience here and will come back!!”

“I booked Masteo's by accident thinking it was this other steak resturant in the area. I am happy I made the mistake. The dining experience was well worth it. Food came out at a reasonable time, and the staff was nice. Overall, 10 out of 10. We will definitely be back. Great ambiance as well. I apologize for the horrible pics. I felt weird taking pics of our food. It seemed too classy for the nonsense I was trying to do, LOL!!! I had the Chilean Sea Bass, my wife had the steak. The sides were mash, mac, and brocolini.”

“Ordered the Japanese A5 Wagyu New York (10 oz). It initially came out well done, which was disappointing, especially at that price point. Service overall was a bit slow and there were multiple mix-ups at our table. That said, the manager handled it well — stepped in quickly, remade the steak correctly, and comped a few items, which I appreciated. When the steak came back medium rare, it was a completely different experience. Extremely soft, buttery, and literally melted in my mouth. Now I understand why Japanese Wagyu is considered the best — it truly is, as long as it’s cooked right. Overall, great food potential but service needs improvement.”

“Walked in at 7:30 PM. Left at 10:30 PM. Not by choice. Our server Elena assumed my friend, a Native American attorney, didn’t speak English and asked me to explain the menu to her instead. That was the first red flag. The Wagyu steaks came out cooked wrong for the entire table. Nobody checked on us. We hunted down management ourselves to fix it. We asked for the manager twice about a billing issue. He never came. Elena got an attitude, walked off, and stood with other staff pointing at our table. The food is fine when cooked correctly. But the service was dismissive, biased, and unprofessional from start to finish. Calling management tomorrow. Elena’s behavior needs to be addressed.”
