“Nobu Downtown is a different version of the Nobu experience than Malibu. Where the Malibu location is all about the Pacific and that golden coastal feeling, this one is a sleek, dramatic space in the base of a lower Manhattan skyscraper, two floors of dark wood and leather and art with the kind of energy that comes from a room full of people who dressed for the evening and mean it. It's a bigger, louder restaurant in the best way. The yellowtail sashimi with jalapeño is the same dish that made Nobu famous and it holds up here exactly as well as anywhere else the kitchen produces it, clean and lightly citrusy with that gentle heat from the pepper. The black cod with miso is the other cornerstone dish and it's worth ordering every single time you visit any Nobu, sweet and lacquered with that fermented depth that makes it taste like the miso has been working on it for days, which it has. We also tried the rock shrimp tempura with creamy spicy sauce, which is one of those dishes that sounds simple and is actually a pretty precise execution, crispy and rich with the sauce adding heat without overwhelming the shrimp underneath. The new-style sashimi with hot oil poured tableside is the other thing to order, thin slices of fish that gently cook just enough from the oil and then get a splash of soy and citrus to bring everything together. It's one of the better tableside moments in the city that doesn't feel like theater for theater's sake. The cocktail program here is stronger than at most Nobu locations and the sake list is extensive. Service is polished and keeps pace with the room. Downtown has a slightly more local feel than the Midtown dining scene and that energy carries through in how the restaurant runs.”
“Here’s a polished review you can post: Stopped into Nobu for a quick bite after work, and it was exactly the kind of effortless, elevated experience that makes this place so special. I kept it light with the yellowtail jalapeño appetizer, yellowtail tartare with caviar, and a grapefruit martini — and every bite and sip was spot on. The yellowtail jalapeño was clean, fresh, and perfectly balanced, with just the right kick of heat. The yellowtail tartare with caviar felt luxurious without being overdone — silky, delicate, and beautifully presented. The grapefruit martini was crisp, refreshing, and the perfect way to unwind after a long day. Even for a quick stop, Nobu delivers that signature mix of refined flavors, great service, and a lively atmosphere. A perfect after-work reset.”
“Nobu Downtown 195 Broadway, NY, NY 10007 Not easy to find, at all. Im a native New Yorker and I had no clue! The people all around, had no clue either! We found it, nestled between these glorious and majestic 30 foot pillars! It's a beautiful restaurant, I like it better than Nobu 57. They had a live DJ, which I truly enjoy. The sound system was absolutely perfect. We vibed and grooved, yet could hold a conversation. There is no dancing here. It was my wife's 47th birthday celebration dinner and was she impressed! The food, the drinks, the service and the ambiance was just right! And I mean- really! Directly, on the same block is a beautiful view of The Freedom Tower in all its glory! Great for photos! I definitely recommend Nobu Downtown, if you can find it!”
“Had an incredible birthday dinner here. My girlfriend (now fiancée) suggested Nobu Downtown because I absolutely loved the Vegas location, and she nailed it. The experience has its own distinct feel compared to Vegas, but it was still fantastic. Our host Rinzin was amazing. He made sure we were well taken care of from start to finish, and every one of his menu recommendations was top-notch. Everything we ordered was delicious, but the steak was a standout. I wasn’t drinking alcohol that night (no judgment, please), and the mocktails were genuinely impressive on their own. Highly recommend for a special occasion. We’ll definitely be back.”
“We came here for lunch. Place is around the corner from broadway. They do not have any signs but posted the glass. We had reservations. We were promptly seated and it’s downstairs. The place started filling up with mostly business people. We ordered from the pri fixe menu plus also from the cold apps. Pri fixe is $45. We ordered the oysters, yellowtail w/ jalapeno, lobster tacos as apps. Mains were tenderloin and shrimp. They both come with a side of rice. Dessert was house gelato and mochi ice cream. Apps: oysters tasted fresh and has hint of saltiness. Yellow tail with Jalapeño was good especially with the sauce. Lobster tacos were noting to rave about. One bite and that was it. Mains: Tenderloin was cooked perfectly but did not care for the sauce as it was bland. Mix it with rice. Portions are pretty small. Shrimp with vegetables was cool evenly and good without any msg taste. Dessert: gelato ice cream was good and not too sweet or overpowering. Mochi ice cream was ok. Overall: you can easily drop a dime in this place . We did not order any drinks. Portions are small but we went for lunch to try it out. Service is prompt. Reservations are recommended. For me I do not think, I will come back unless I’m willing to splurge $$$”
