“Nobu has delicious food, amazing service, and a calming atmosphere. We ordered a variety of dishes, and all of them are unique in their own way. First came three cold plates. The yellowtail sashimi, it was a light and refreshing appetizer that cleansed our pallets. The fresh oysters came with three different flavors, and each one is a different experience. The salmon sashimi with miso sauce was the best out of the three, since the flavor was a perfect balance between sweet and salty, and the salmon just melts in your mouth. The spicy seafood soup was full of real ingredients, with large scallops and shrimp, perfect for sharing. The tuna and ribeye tacos are perfect bites in between courses. The two main courses are Miso glazed black cod and the lobster with honey truffle aioli. The cod has a rich and silky texture that melts in your mouth, and the meat flakes apart beautifully. The lobster’s meat was bouncy and chewy, and the sauce has this truffle aroma that blends perfectly with the lobster. Overall it was just an amazing experience, and our server Philip was not only attentive, but he also recommended us almost all our dishes that we tasted. Hopefully we get to have to the chance to come back!”
“We love Nobu Palo Alto! We've celebrated several occasions here, and most recently we celebrated my birthday. We love to sit at the sushi bar so we can watch the chefs at work! Chef Jase made us incredible sushi dishes and his creativity blew us away. Each item surprised and delighted us. A generational sushi talent! We received exceptional service from our waiter Ramon and were also impressed by prep cooks Kevin and Andrew. Expensive but worth every penny on a special night. We can't wait to come back.”
“Nobu exceeded expectations! The service was top-notch - attentive, knowledgeable, and incredibly friendly. Our server was on point, offering great recommendations and making sure everything was just right. The star of the show was the Black Cod with Miso - it was a game-changer! The combination of sweet and savory was pure perfection, with the cod literally melting in our mouths. To top it off, we got a complimentary dessert for a special occasion. If you're looking to celebrate a special occasion or just want to treat yourself, Nobu is the way to go! Would definitely recommend.”
“As one of the world's premier Japanese luxury restaurant chains, Nobu consistently sets the benchmark for high-end dining, and its Palo Alto location in the heart of Silicon Valley is no exception. True to the brand's global reputation, this outpost effortlessly maintains top-tier quality in both its food and its immaculate, minimalist "urban ryokan" atmosphere. The menu is a masterful showcase of Chef Nobu Matsuhisa’s pioneering fusion style, presenting a flawless balance of classic and modern Japanese-Peruvian dishes. Timeless icons like the buttery Black Cod Miso and the perfectly sharp Yellowtail Sashimi with Jalapeño never fail to impress. At the same time, the kitchen leans into local Northern California influences, introducing innovative, coastal-inspired plates and exceptional seasonal selections that satisfy adventurous palates. Whether you are enjoying a meticulous multi-course tasting menu or dynamic shared plates, the execution remains flawless. The attentive hospitality aligns perfectly with the sophisticated setting, ensuring every visit feels elevated. For anyone traveling across major cities, checking into a local Nobu is a guaranteed recipe for excellence—and the Palo Alto location firmly proves why it is always worth returning to.”
“Came here for our wedding anniversary. The first question we got asked was, are you celebrating any special occasion, nice, we shared we did, but after that we didn't hear anything (disappointing). The food was good, on average, Yellow tail sashimi was great, black cod was amazing, and deserts were great. But everything else we had didn't blow us away, they were just avg, surely don't justify their price. I did manage to get a last minute reservation which was great. But I did notice that my chair was ripped. My bottom line, overpriced.”
