“My husband and I went to Smith & Wollensky for lunch to celebrate his birthday, before we went to a show at the Garden. Everything was outstanding from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious, and the service was exceptional, best we have had !!! Cocktails were phenomenal! Our server, Tisho, was friendly, down to earth, attentive, and genuinely made the experience even better. It’s rare to get service that feels both professional and personal, but Tisho made it happen! 10-star service! We’ll definitely be back.”
“Hands down one of the best five star restaurants I’ve ever been too. The bartender Sarah was awesome, she was very very knowledgeable on wines, drinks, steaks. The service was top tier and each and every staff member was nice and accommodating. If your in Boston it’s a must go.”
“We visited Smith & Wollensky in Boston to catch the England vs. Norway match, but if you’re looking for a great sports viewing experience, this isn’t really the spot. They only have four small screens tucked away in a specific area, and they show the game with no sound. It’s definitely more of a classic steakhouse than a sports joint, so watching the game felt like a bit of an afterthought. Thankfully, the food made up for it—mostly! The Starters The appetizers were absolutely stellar: Tuna Tartare: This was amazing and incredibly fresh and tasty. The Bread & Caesar Salad: Both were great, especially that massive, crispy parmesan frico on top of the salad. The Steaks Our mains were a bit of a mixed bag: USDA Prime Boneless NY Strip: This cut was cooked to a perfect pink and tasted great. Wagyu Manhattan Cut: In our opinion, this one fell short. It was actually a little tough to chew, which you don't expect from Wagyu. It also came served over a corn puree and topped with a heavy chimichurri sauce. We honestly prefer a classic, high-quality steak served clean without those kinds of sweet or heavy toppings, so this dish wasn't really our style. Go for the classic cuts, the awesome starters, and maybe skip it if you are hoping for a lively game-day atmosphere!”
“Every dish is very salty. The saltiness masks the original taste of the food. This is too bad, because the food quality here is very good, and their original tastes don’t get to shine through. Not sure if salty food is American style tho. Dry aged prime steak is super tender. The medium looks more like medium rare, but still states great.”
“Phenomenal filet. All food was phenomenal with the exception of a well over cooked apple dessert in an iron skillet with a terribly burnt bottom. Although service and communication among servers was less than what I’d expect here, it was ultimately a great experience with tremendous food and good people. A member of my party did bring a bottle of wine and learned there is a “no BYOB” policy. We kindly ask that the staff hold it, and asked in no uncertain terms that they return it to the table prior to us leaving, or that it would be forgotten. Unfortunately, the bottle of wine was indeed left at the restaurant much to my party’s disappointment at the realization the next day upon leaving town. Learning experience. An expensive one.”
