The Prado at Balboa Park

“10/10! Service: excellent. Food: outstanding. Atmosphere: lively and beautiful. Sat outside on a Friday afternoon. Mildly crowded but we were seated right away. Ordered the Birria Torta and the Paella. Huge portions and full of flavor. The birria torta was very messy but worth every napkin. Really fun drinks on the cocktail and wine menus. Our waitress gave us some local recommendations and we explored more of Balboa Park after our meal.”

“The most relaxed Ive been at a restaurant in quite a while! Rinn took such good care of us, and gave me flann as a treat for my recent graduation. She was an absolute delight! I ordered the Kobe Burger and the Paella, which were alright. The burger was a bit charged and well done, but with a bit of ketchup and ranch was delicious. Although the Paella wasn't for me, it was still enjoyable for my Mother. The San Diego Lemonade was exceptional and well balanced, on the sweeter side with a beautiful garnish. The view of the trees and the cross breeze made the experience even better, the slight buzz of chatter from guests making this a pleasant experience. Thank you again Rinn for your wonderful service and conversation! You were a delight!”

“Absolutely the best dining experience! From the starters to the desert! Our server Shai was so friendly and happy! She totally set the mood for my wife and I, for a most enjoyable evening and dining experience! The dishes were beautiful and bursting with freshness! And the dessert, simply lovely! From start to finish, what a wonderful Valentines Day! My motto is, "Lets Go To The Prado!" Thank you!”

“I'm an out-of-towner and for me the entire Balboa Park experience was awesome. The dishes we had at the Prado were good but not outstanding. The chicken for one was quite dry... I'm must mention though that our server made an extra effort to make sure that I got a chicken dish that I requested though it was not on the menu ! The other dishes we tried were nice - the beef taco especially I had a spiced Margherita which had a distinct smoky flavour that I was not a fan of .we sat in the patio and I feel that's the best place to sit if one is going around lunch ...”

“I came during lunch for their happy hour menu. They are dog friendly and the setting is beautiful! I got their birria chips and dip, rolled tacos, fish tacos, and mole chicken wings. I had some wine also but it wasnt very smooth. The food is ok, I wouldn't pay for them outside of the happy hour menu, but service and excellent atmosphere is worth being here. I love this place as its always a good time.”
