“One of the best restaurants around! Celebrated family birthdays here and it never disappoints. Had the Roasted Duck, and shared the Aracini and Sourdough starters - everything was presented so beautifully and tasted even better than it looked! 😋 Highly recommend trying this spot, especially for a special occasion.”
“If I could rate my time , it would be a 10 Not only the food, but the ambiance. PLEASE VISIT. TRUE DINING. Gifted chef. 💗 Update. I only wish everyone in Woodstock could experience what Chef Eric staff can accomplish. Truly a treat to see and taste. Plus, smart. Thank you 🫡”
“One of my favorite tasting menus in Ontario. Worth the drive to Woodstock. I came for my birthday and was blown away with my meal. Highly recommended. High quality without being fussy or pretentious. My favorite was their gnoochi!”
“Always an amazing experience, the chef, staff and our server Erica really knocked it out of the park last night. The amuse bouche definately made our mouths happy. Describing it as a chicken wing really doesn't do it justice. The daily Soup (apple-celery) had me forgetting how ridiculously low the outside temperature was. The Steak Tartar was so well seasoned we wept when it was finished..but wait..the Pan Fried Trout with pan seared rainbow trout w hakurei turnip/brussel sprout leaves/rice wine vinaigrette peanut coconut chili sauce/spiced peanuts literally made me weep. Her apple smoked duck breast w pastrami spiced honey/butternut squash puree potato pave/king oyster mushrooms roasted delicata squash/maple vidal jus elicited squeals of joy. And my whisky sour was the best I've had in a very long time. And can we talk about their new dining room chairs? (Babe, start the car!) So comfy. They have cool new table-top lighting too, which I immediatley found on Amazon and they'll arrive for our dining room table today. Do yourself a favour. Stop struggling trying to find decent locally sourced veggies and meats. Come to SixThirtyNine and let the experts show you the love.”
“We had an unforgettable evening at sixthirtynine in Woodstock. We sat at the chef’s table inside the kitchen, which made the experience feel personal, immersive, and full of energy. We chose the seven-course tasting menu and every dish was beautifully balanced, thoughtful, and bursting with flavour. Our meal opened with a silky egg custard topped with crème fraîche and trout caviar—rich, delicate, and a perfect start. The arancini with local Five Brothers cheese was crispy, comforting and full of depth. Next came a bright, well-seasoned beef tartare followed by a parsnip and pear soup that was smooth, slightly sweet, and incredibly elegant. For mains, the scallops were a highlight—perfectly seared, paired with mushrooms and a savoury mushroom dashi that tied everything together. The lamb course followed and was exceptional, served with king oyster mushroom, parsnip purée, and a lamb ravioli that added a refined, unexpected twist. We finished with their butter tart topped with candied walnuts—Canadian, nostalgic, and elevated in every way. The service was warm and attentive, the pacing was perfect, and being right in the kitchen gave us a front-row seat to the craft behind each plate. A truly memorable dining experience. Highly recommended for anyone who loves food, creativity, and a bit of theatre with dinner.”
