“We’ve visited the Inn at Hancock three times—once for brunch and twice for dinner—and each visit was excellent. Beautifully renovated with a charming British feel and lovely décor. The food is outstanding—classic fine dining that’s hard to find today. Brunch was just as impressive. Staff are warm, friendly, and attentive. Definitely a higher-end experience, but well worth it for a special occasion in a lovely small-town setting.”

“Could be a really nice restaurant, but undone by silly high prices. First, the pros: the decor is lovely, the service is top notch (our waiter was attentive and warm, we were well taken care of), they have a good drinks selection, and the food is tasty. I got pasta with ramps, delicious. But the prices, my god, the prices. I should say as preamble, I know we’ve lived through an inflationary period, I get how hard the restaurant business is, and I am familiar with the trade off one makes when dining in a fancy restaurant: portions are small, but you’re paying for quality ingredients, skilled cooking, decor, and all the rest. But there’s small and then there’s small. It was the gnocchi dish that broke me…an entree…$36…comprised of a smear of sauce, a few carrots, and…3 gnocchi. 3. Three! You might ask, “oh you must mean 3 big pieces of pasta reminiscent of gnocchi, right?” No, I mean 3 normal sized gnocchi. I almost burst out laughing when they set it down. I could not believe the chutzpah. Folks, gnocchi are just potato, flour, salt, water. How much money could they possibly be saving by not serving, say, 10 gnocchi? 10 would be skimpy, but within bounds. 3 is comical. Were these made of rare heirloom potatoes from a hidden valley in the Andes? The other dishes weren’t quite as egregious, but everything was along the same lines: nice, but not worth the eye watering prices. It’s a shame because they have all the makings of a good restaurant. They just need to get the value prop of the food into a more reasonable place. As is, come for drinks, skip the food.”

“I used to love this place. I lived right around the corner growing up and worked here one summer. I even thought about having my wedding here. Unfortunately, this restaurant seems to have been overtaken by pretentious investors who don’t know the community that they are serving. We had cocktails and appetizers including a slider and salmon tartare. The salmon tasted like it was from the grocery store, and the slider bun tasted like a hot dog bun. I would describe everything across the board as both overpriced and mediocre at best. Everything was honestly a shocking price for the area, and I’m not sure how or if they plan on attracting locals. It is unfortunate what they’ve done to this once-beloved establishment.”
