🌊 The Parker Hollow — A New Chapter for Parkville Dining Chef Jonathan Justus and Camille Eklof, the team behind Justus Drugstore, introduce The Parker Hollow, now open in downtown Parkville. Housed in a beautifully restored 150-year-old building at 100 Main Street, The Parker Hollow blends historic charm with a coastal-inspired menu centered on sustainable seafood — oysters, clams, and West Coast delicacies — alongside creative land-based dishes like a signature hanger steak. With intimate dining upstairs, a lively raw bar below, and sweeping views through retractable windows, The Parker Hollow promises a refined yet relaxed dining experience unlike anything in the Northland.
“The best place to dine out in Kansas City! No restaurant has ever been able to WOW me until now. Sitting at the chefs table is the play here. The chefs chat with you and Jonathan brought over samples. It was such a delightful experience! The Scottish Salmon was the most delicious meal I've ever had. The salmon was prepared perfectly, the crispy deep fried spinach with salt provided the best accompanying crunch. The Caesar salad with fried fish nugs for croutons was so fun and refreshing. My martini was even perfect! 10/10 eat here!”
“I had been very excited to eat here and the food did not disappoint. We did the chefs table and it was truly an experience. We were delayed being the last seating of the of the night. I don’t run a business so it feels very judgmental of me to make recommendations but seeing how other restaurants set strict time limits - seems like this would be something that could be done to ensure a timely yet enjoyable experience with expectations for everyone. Especially so the last seating isn’t delayed significantly as we were. I also understand that Chef gives an extraordinary amount of time, attention and shares his passion with each seating so it is hard to limit that! This is the only reason my experience got 4/5 instead of 5/5 but I will say that Chef definitely made up for our delay and I will definitely be coming back! He was kind and engaging. It was clear that he truly valued our experience. The Iberico ham was literally the best I have ever tasted to start. Oysters with melon Grenita were fresh with a unique twist. There are too many INCREDIBLE dishes that we had to name them all. I will say that the clam chowder was outstanding. Undoubtedly the best. I will be thinking about it until I get back! It was creamy yet light but rich. Fresh clams still in the shell. Wow, just wow. The cherry tartlet was exquisite and soo fresh. I could go on and on but TRULY one of the best meals in Kansas City I have had and I make an effort to go everywhere. Really something special. They are relatively new and have some green staff so some patience will go a long way as they sort out logistics but it will be worth it. It’s already incredible and I know, it will only get better. Not many pictures. We were hungry! Pics of the clam chowder, orange blossom saffron olive oil cake (delicious!) and the cherry tartlet - doesn’t do the taste/flavors justice.”
“What a fantastic setup Parker Hollow has! Small, intimate table seating vibe upstairs, with a lively and energetic bar and chef's counter on the first floor. The place is small, so plan accordingly, and ideally get a reservation! The food was some of the best we've had in the city! For our appetizers we had: Daily oysters - Fresh and delicious and paired well with the accompaniments. Dungeoness crab appetizer - Light and refreshing with a nice crunch from the pork rinds. Black Label Jamon Iberico - Wow! it melts in your mouth! Do not skip this one! For the main courses we ended up with: Fisherman's Stew - Full of assorted seafood, veggies and a broth that you can drink! Goes well with the toasted bread to sop up the broth! USDA Prime hanger steak - Cooked to perfection and melts in your mouth! Fries were crispy and seasoned perfectly. Highly recommend! To round out the meal, our desert: Sherry and Thyme Poached Pear - so flavorful, not too sweet, and not too tart. Wonderful!”
“Tonight was my husband’s and my first time visiting, and the overall experience was truly 10/10. We started with two of every oyster, the crab special, clams, and a Caesar salad with catfish nuggets. For our entrées, we shared the special of the day (tuna collar) and the wagyu burger—everything was absolutely superb. The staff was wonderful, and you can genuinely feel the integrity and care the owners put into every detail. Highly recommend!”
“There are eight tables in the restaurant area. Only one server was taking care of all eight tables and it seemed to be a bit much. The food was good and served at a nice temperature. Very charming and intimate environment. Staff was very courteous. We ate upstairs in the restaurant and I would like to go back and try the raw bar which appeared enticing.”
