What diners say
“Very cute modern venue. Went for a coffee at 9am and it had a very relaxed atmosphere. I got an iced coffee and a slice of granola, both were excellent. Coffee was smooth and refreshing and the granola was delicious and packed full of fruit, nuts, and seeds. Best granola I've had in a long while. Service was friendly and efficient. :) definitely want to go again and also try out the bar.”

“Mark and the whole team at the market house went above and beyond to make my 40th birthday party everything I had dreamed of and more. Burgers for 80 was no mean feat but they were delicious and absolutely what was needed! Nothing was too much trouble and everyone has commented on what a great atmosphere it was. Highly recommend for private hire!”

“Highly recommend this place. We had lunch here today and me and daughter loved it. Check out her photos (she’s 5 years old!) the burger and hot chocolate was delicious.
I’ve also been for drinks in the evening and had great evening. Really nice cocktails and wide range of drinks.”

“Came for a coffee and a carrot cake; stayed for the happy hour cocktails and the lovely, friendly and warm service and atmosphere blew me away. The perfect cafe/bar to come for any occasion, I personally really enjoyed finding a corner to read and journal by myself but would also totally come back with family and friends. 1000% would recommend ❤️❤️”

“I had my birthday party at The Market House in Tonbridge at the weekend and although the venue looks nice there were so many problems that I personally feel need to be addressed and people need to be made aware of. The Security that ran my party were absolutely appalling and incredibly rude to several members of the party. One security member called one of my family members ‘a northern c*nt’ and ‘to go back to where he came from’ all because he is from up North, They refused to let people back into the building after people were getting fresh air outside / going out to smoke. We weren’t ever made aware during booking that there would be a ‘last entry’ even for people simply stepping outside, this forced some people to just leave entirely as it was made too much of a hassle to argue their way back into the venue. The bar was not adequately stocked, the beer pumps were turned off really early so people couldn’t buy a pint. The venue is like a sauna so people stepping outside for fresh air was unavoidable as many found the heat unbearable in there. When the security were queried on the issues that happened, 2 of the security members were sat to the side laughing and joking about what was being said and quite frankly taking the mick. It is quite unfortunate as I feel all of these issues are very avoidable, I’m sure everyone’s experiences at this venue are different but it is a massive shame that after all the money spent on it, this was the outcome of what was supposed to be a really enjoyable night.”
