Troll's is family owned and operated, world famous fish and chip restaurant in beautiful Horseshoe Bay, West Vancouver. Joe and Dorothy ("Dot") Troll started Troll's Fish and Chips in 1946, opening only on weekends and holidays to cater to the local fisherman. Gary, Joe's son, and his wife Carol took over the restaurant in 1972 and despite the well-publicized lottery winnings. After Gary's passing Albert Trolls continues to oversee the daily operations and prepares the early morning opening of the restaurant .
“Best restaurant in Horseshoe Bay. Always a good idea to get the signature fish and chips with cod, haddock, salmon and halibut to choose from. I tried the Halibut along with the jumbo fried prawns and french onion soup, and it was very good! Great place to check out while you wait for the ferry, or even dropping by after visiting the Island.”
“My father and I had a great experience here. The food was excellent, with generous portions and great flavors. The service was outstanding from start to finish, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. We really enjoyed our meal and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended”
“My friend took me for lunch. We took the express bus from downtown Vancouver. We shared fish and chips big portion! We also tried the white clam chowder, and honestly, it was my favorite. The view was beautiful, great atmosphere, and fair prices.”
“We love the colliflour bites here. The calamari with jalapeno and onions was real good too. This time I got the fish pie and I wish I had gotten something else. It was a cheese pie as you can see from the image. The fish inside it was just overcooked mushyness. We will return here but plan on getting only four of the the col bites.”
“The food is definitely great with reasonable portions. We loved the clam chowder and it seems this restaurant prefers a red or white option (with the white, creamy option being the more popular out of the two which we opted for). The milkshake was delicious! However, I wasn't too fond of the turkey used in the sandwich as it felt a bit dry and unseasoned. They don't seem to have a set hostess so we and also a group behind us were left waiting at the front for a period of time. The food comes back after a short wait but nothing too crazy.”
