“You have got the be kidding me... The taste, the ambience, the service, all straight 5-stars, second to none. We were 6 people and one kid, coming to enjoy a dinner, and we were met with amazing country view, brick road, brewery and distillery on one side, restaurant and patio spaces on the other, including a small gravel playground with a mini bulldozer and a truck. If I were _much_ younger, that's where you could have left me. The restaurant itself is a mix of old and new, a vibrant scene full of busy, but genuine and helpful staff, from hostesses to servers and waiters. The space is large, but it feels even bigger because it's a farmhouse with 30ft ceilings with exposed beams, that is home to so many tasty smells, you just don't know which one belongs to your food being cooked. After some nice lagers, our food arrived, and it was an explosion of taste and bold flavours and contrasting, yet balanced aromas; the fries has a citrusy coating to match the fat, olives were warmed and mixed with habanero peppers, sautéed garlic slices, chilli flakes and vinegar. Burgers were properly made, meaning not pressed to murder like some places, and not gigantic so they don't fit into your mouth - Bourdain said that you should be able to eat a burger with out a napkin - and made using ingredients from neighbouring farms and producers, just like majority of ingredients in salads, and pizza toppings. And that pizza... Yes, it slaps. Hard. And it's soft, and just enough chewy, and crunchy, with oiled cornicione, baked slightly longer to get the dough to bubble and reach consistency perfection. Toppings are the product of chef Brian's vivid imagination and years of experience in pairing complimentary foods, especially whatever the pizza of the day is, so you can safely come every day and never eat the same pizza twice. We're most certainly coming back, but not only for special occasions, because life is too short to waste it on mediocre food.”
“What an amazing surprise this place is. Had no preconceived ideas and was a bit shocked. High end appetizers with depth of flavors on the baked brie. The Bee Sting pizza and lemon basil dipping sauce was unbelievable....little heat but the combination was one of the best non traditional pizzas I have ever had. Finally, Kyle our waiter, was amazing. Very knowledgeable of the entire menu with helpful insights and knew the story behind it all - happy to share it as well.”
“Cool atmosphere. Staff were super friendly. Food was delicious. So much flavour. Pizza is the best in the region. Great options if you are looking for an alcoholic beverage. Not many non alcoholic options like pop or juice. Highly recommended and will definitely be back.”
“On a sunny fall day, we ended up at this great place. It is a perfect spot for spending time with friends or family, or on a date. We ordered the featured pizza and were glad we did. It came with pickles, sauerkraut, mustard, smoked sausage, and smoked bacon. Not something we’d normally go for, but it worked. The crust was excellent, and the toppings were well-balanced; you could taste everything without it being overwhelming. Very tasty and would definitely order it again. We also enjoyed the House Lemonade and the Hibiscus Limeade (which I loved…and took some home). Both refreshing and just right with the meal. I’m also a fan of their Honey Gin Fizz, which I’ve picked up before from their booth at the St. Jacobs Market. A great meal in a lovely setting, and definitely worth checking out.”
“Fantastic gastropub just outside of Ayr. We ordered 3 shareable apps and each was outstanding. The restaurant was full for a Saturday afternoon but we managed to get a hightop table upstairs overlooking the restaurant. Will definitely return to try, what I hear, is excellent pizza.”
