Zyka Elevated Indian Restaurant

“Zyka absolutely stole the show. This was easily one of the best dining experiences we’ve had in a long time, and every aspect of it deserves five stars and more. Food: We started with the Manchow soup, which was delicious, comforting, and had the perfect mild ginger flavour. It was the ideal start to the meal. We then moved on to the authentic goat curry with Kerala parotta, and both were exceptional. The goat curry was rich, flavourful, and perfectly cooked, while the parotta paired beautifully with it. We ended the meal with a masala chai that was warm, aromatic, and the perfect finish. Every single item we ordered was outstanding. Ambiance: The restaurant itself is beautiful. The Indian décor adds such a warm and authentic touch to the experience, making the space feel elegant yet welcoming. Combined with the absolutely stunning mountain views in the background, the atmosphere was unforgettable. It felt cozy, relaxing, and thoughtfully designed from start to finish. Service: The hospitality here is truly on another level. Every single staff member was attentive, warm, and professional. Honestly, you couldn’t even tell who the manager was because everyone delivered the same exceptional level of service. We were checked on three different times by different staff and management members to make sure everything was good, but it never felt invasive or excessive. That balance is hard to achieve, and they did it perfectly. Special shoutout to Rahul for making the experience even better. Everyone here deserves a raise for how amazing of a job they do. Loved every bit of this place and will absolutely be back soon.”

“Made a last minute reservation for our first night in Banff and thankfully Zyka had some openings at the time. As soon as we entered, we were warmly greeted by the host at the desk and able to seat us early. Everything from start to finish was amazing. The food was so good and also the drinks. My boyfriend was obsessed with their mango lassi he literally got 3. All the servers were really great too. Our waters were always full and plates cleared immediately. Will definitely be coming back if I’m ever in Banff again!”

“Excellent place to enjoy authentic Indian food with a warm and inviting ambiance. We visited as a large group of 14 people, including 6 kids, and despite the restaurant being quite busy, they accommodated us very well. Our server, Jerome, was extremely friendly, helpful, and attentive throughout the evening. The service was impressively fast, and the food was absolutely fantastic. What truly stood out was the owner, Manish, personally visiting every table to ensure guests were well taken care of. We genuinely appreciated this thoughtful and welcoming gesture. We tried the Manchow Soup, Paneer Tikka, Plain Dosa, and Malai Kofta served with super soft naan and flavorful Jeera Rice — everything was delicious and full of authentic taste. Highly recommended restaurant if you are visiting Banff and craving great Indian food with excellent hospitality!”

“One of my favourite things to do in a restaurant is to honour the chef. I do that by not even looking at the menu. I hand the menu back to the waiter and give the chef instructions to put out his favourite meal. What would he like to eat that night? We did that at Zyka’s tonight, and what a feast for the senses - smell, sight and taste were all treated very well. Each course was well presented and all the components were described. The wait staff were excited to join us in our adventure. They were exceptional. Course after course wowed us. The flavours both delicate and at times spicy. Never overbearing but the variety was exceptional. In all fairness, I would have never ordered those items simply because I didn't know them. So this was a real treat.”

“The food here was really fantastic (and authentic) and incredibly priced for Banff. All the staff here are very attentive and kind as well and the atmosphere and views are great. Highly recommend their specials - we got the Kerala style mutton dum biryani two nights in a row and I already miss it. I also love their dosa and the mulakittathu fish curry is really unique and so flavourful. Each dish tastes really different from the next. Forewarning - because it’s real Indian food some dishes can be quite spicy (but that’s how you know it’s good). It’s definitely a more upscale spot but the portions are still very big (if you order a main each and share you will be stuffed). Their bhindi masala (okra) is also a must. Also lots of gluten friendly options. Best indian food I’ve had in Alberta by far!! Definitely a gem.”
