“Soma is one of my favorite places to get a drink. It has been there for me for the past four years, in tough times and in glorious times. Tonight i was so disappointed. My best friend and I went to grab a drink and celebrate her new employment opportunity. It was late, and we were both tired, and so we thought we would share an espresso martini before ordering our individual cocktails. When i tried explaining this to bartender, i was met with disdain and the rolling of eyes. I couldn’t believe it- could two girls not share an espresso martini? We were given our martini a few minutes later, without a smile or second glance. We glanced at the menu and decide to order an app, and the tension only furthers between the bartender and us. My bestie (for restie) tries to get his attention numerous times, without any acknowledgement. When he finally acknowledged our needs, we were astounded by his response. “I’ll be with you in one minute!”😡😡😡 He said in a snappy, irritated tone. He made us feel like a pariah, like we ought to leave. My friend looked at me and said “should we go?” i assured her that no, we belonged here, and needed to stand our ground. If he hated women having fun, that was HIS problem. Several minutes passed. Stripped of our confidence and joy, we timidly asked for two martinis and an app. We were met with zero recognition- no light in his eyes, movement of the mouth, or verbal affirmation of any kind. Shocking. Soma, we will always love you, but this thoroughly disappointed us. It put a damper on our celebratory aperitivo/drinks. We will be back, fear not, but disappointed all the same.”

“What can I say??? Absolutely great fun restaurant! Friendly servers who are helpful engaging and attentive. Food was wonderful although we were going to a concert so went on lighter side of menu with app and salads, Lavender Martini and Albariño wine! Lavender Martini is a must. If you like a nice crisp light white, strongly recommend the Albariño. Steak tips were excelllent as well as salmon. Oh and ask for Tom!!!”

“The chicken pasta is very good. Huge portion with juicy chicken. Then lemon chicken gravy was so good!y daughter enjoyed the mushroom ravioli. Their bread was a 12/10! The hummus is great also.”

“Excellent service and delicious food!! We were in a bit of a rush and they were very conscientious and got us out on time without comprising our food!! We ordered the brussel sprout salad, the crab cake, and chicken souvlaki wrap. I’m usually not a wrap person, but this was amazing!! Incredibly tasty! The crab cake was HUGE — crispy on the outside and super lumpy crab on the inside. I highly recommend going! Update: we went again! It was delicious! Fresh bread, tasty vegetables, and well cooked/seasoned meat!”
