“Simply incredible. I was visiting my daughter in Detroit for the weekend and all my research was telling me to take her to Prime + Proper. Abigail helped me out with an early booking and once we arrived, the staff took such wonderful care of us. We had the center table with the best view of the restaurant. Chris and Martell were our ‘server team’. Abigail and Lawrence stopped by and made sure we were doing great. The food itself was fantastic: we shared a chicken fried lobster to start, then went with the porterhouse steak cooked to perfection with broccoli and potato pavé sides. This was by far the best beef either of us had ever eaten. We were too full for dessert but the staff had understood this was a special Daddy Daughter weekend and treated us to a peanut butter pavé that was simply delicious. The evening was a stunning success and all down to the wonderful staff and how well they took care of us! Highly, highly recommended.”

“I visited Prime + Proper to celebrate my graduation, and it was a great choice for such a special occasion. Brandon and Chris both did a wonderful job hosting our dining experience. Any questions we had were answered clearly, and their recommendations were very helpful throughout the evening. I highly recommend requesting either of them as your server. Featured in the picture below is the Australian Wagyu, which was amazing and absolutely did not disappoint. The peanut butter pavé and classic vanilla cheesecake were also delightful dessert choices. All in all, I highly recommend Prime + Proper. It is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion and enjoy an amazing dining experience.”

“Our hosts Nick, Jimmie, and Saniyah were very attentive, patient, and kind. Nick was very knowledgeable about the foods listed on the menu as well as how each meat was was prepared. He also helped us make some very great choices as this was our first time. Nick, that Chicken Fried Lobster is my favorite appetizer LOL! We appreciated his kindness. “We celebrated our anniversary at Prime and Proper in Detroit tonight and it was an incredible experience from start to finish. The atmosphere was perfect for a special night and the service made it feel even more personal. Everyone was attentive, friendly, and genuinely seemed to care that we were there celebrating. We ordered the 40 ounce tomahawk steak, hash browns, and onion rings and everything was phenomenal. The steak was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. They also brought out the carrots for us and surprised us with a dessert for our anniversary, which was such a thoughtful touch and really elevated the whole night. You can tell this place takes pride in what they do. The food, the service, and the overall experience were all top notch. Worth every penny and we will definitely be back. ★★★★★”

“Loved the staff and service so much! Eight of us were celebrating my 50th birthday. They definitely do birthdays all out! Unfortunately, the beautiful modern design makes for a very loud setting and conversations at our long table were essentially held at a shouting-level in a restaurant that wasn't quite full. I long for the days of quiet, carpeted, elegant steakhouses. Our food was good but perhaps not up to the level of the menu pricing. Pavé potatoes and foie gras were excellent, none of us enjoyed the mushroom side despite our server recommending them (the two orders were inconsistent; one being very smokey and one being acidic), carrots were way undercooked for most of us (one of the beauties of carrots are deep caramelization and these were not that), everyone enjoyed their entrees of whiskey aged ribeyes, whole fried chicken, and scallops. The wine bottle recommendation was excellent and appropriately priced. All of the desserts were great. We all especially loved the baklava ice cream.”
