Sushi Lounge Hoboken is a Sushi restaurant in the Downtown neighborhood of Hoboken.
“Sushi Lounge has been one of those reliable Hoboken spots that keeps people coming back for years, and after this visit it’s easy to understand why. The atmosphere is dark, cozy, and perfect for a late dinner or drinks after walking along the waterfront. Started with spring rolls, gyoza, and calamari — all came out hot, crispy, and full of flavor. The sushi presentation looked beautiful and the fish tasted fresh across every roll we tried. The steak entrée was tender and perfectly seasoned, paired with fried rice and classic Korean-style sides that balanced everything out really well. What really makes Sushi Lounge stand out is the vibe. Good music, low lighting, strong cocktails, and that relaxed Hoboken energy that makes you want to stay longer than planned. It feels equally good for date night, dinner with friends, or just sitting at the bar with an Old Fashioned. Delicious food, great atmosphere, and a perfect location near the waterfront. Definitely a must-visit spot in Hoboken. — Jeffrey Umaña @jeffrey.umana | #LetThemDrinkArt”
“As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to discover their extensive menu, which offers plenty of delicious options. During my visit, I indulged in the vegetable sushi roll, edamame, and their must-try Asian guacamole, which was a delightful surprise. I also enjoyed the miso soup and house salad-everything was fresh and flavorful. What impressed me the most was their commitment to customizing dishes according to dietary preferences. For instance, I was able to enjoy hibachi rice without any fish sauce, meat, or egg, and the vegetable yaki udon was simply delicious. The attentive staff made sure I had exactly what I wanted, enhancing my dining experience. Whether you're a sushi lover or looking for great vegetarian options, I highly recommend Sushi Lounge in Hoboken —it's a place worth visiting!”
“Rolls were good but overpriced & small for what we ordered. The second floor seating area is unventilated, dark and hot: no windows, AC or fan running made for an uncomfortable & stuffy experience. Would not recommend.”
“The specialty rolls are $20 each and are extremely small, i left still hungry and I ordered 2 rolls and 4 orders of salmon sashimi. the salmon sashimi is also $5, not smooth at all and is 1 PIECE PER ORDER. illuzion has better quality and gives 3 pieces per order for the same price. don’t come here unless you’re prepared to go somewhere else afterwards to feel satiated.”
“I rarely write reviews, but this experience genuinely warrants one. There are countless restaurants charging less and delivering food that is just as good often better with clear expectations about what you’re paying for. Sushi Lounge, unfortunately, felt like a Trojan horse. From the outside, it promises a premium experience. Once inside, that promise collapses. To be clear, the service was good, and the chefs did their job well. This is not a criticism of the staff or their effort. The issue is value specifically, how aggressively disconnected the pricing is from what actually arrives at the table. Portion sizes, execution, and overall satisfaction simply do not align with the cost. I fully understand the realities of operating a restaurant today rent, staffing, overhead, all of it. But understanding those pressures does not excuse passing the burden onto customers in a way that feels misleading and frankly exploitative. At this price point, expectations are naturally high, and this experience failed to meet them in a meaningful way. What’s most disappointing is that this didn’t need to happen. With more honest pricing or clearer positioning, the experience could have been acceptable. Instead, it left a strong sense of regret like paying a premium for an illusion. I wanted to enjoy this place. I expected to. I left feeling taken advantage of. That’s not something a restaurant should ever make its guests feel.”
