This place has quickly become one of my favorite go-to spots in the area, and for good reason. From the moment you pull up to the sprawling 1.5-acre campus at 2918 Metairie Road, you know you’re in for something special. It’s like three restaurants in one: a sleek indoor dining room and bar, a lively chef’s counter, and charming outdoor pavilions perfect for al fresco vibes. Whether you’re there for a lively happy hour, a relaxed lunch, or a special dinner under the stars, the setting just puts you in a great mood right away. The menu is modern American with creative twists that highlight seasonal ingredients and sustainable touches (they even grow some of their own herbs and veggies on-site!). Standouts I’ve loved include the shrimp toast (crispy, fresh, and packed with flavor), the crab gnocchi with its clever carrot-coconut notes, and the juicy chicken cutlet sandwich that somehow manages to be both indulgent and light at the same time. Brunch is a total treat too, those thick-but-fluffy buttermilk pancakes with blueberry compote are dangerously good, and don’t sleep on the creative cocktails that pair perfectly with everything. Portions are generous, service is warm and attentive (the team really makes you feel welcome), and the whole experience just feels joyful and unpretentious. It’s the kind of place where you can dress up a little or keep it casual in jeans, and you’ll leave smiling with a full belly and maybe a new favorite dish. “Enjoyed a lovely brunch here with the family. Beautiful and spacious patio area. $20 bottomless mimosas. Onion dip was nice and great veggies to dip with. Chicken cutlet sandwich was delicious and huge. Can def be split between 2 people especially if you’re getting starters. Oscar was attentive and provided great service.”

My shrimp toast was a fantastic start, and my main course of chicken cutlet sandwich was a perfect blend of flavors and textures. The bar staff clearly takes pride in their craft, and the cocktails are well-balanced and creative. My walnut fashion was a perfect balance of walnut twist on an old fashion. They also have a solid selection of wines and beers, so there's something to please every palate. Overall, Garrison is a true gem. With its delicious food, good drinks, and that unique, cool atmosphere with the 90s music, it’s the perfect spot for a night out with friends or a unique date night. I'm already planning my next visit.”

“Overall very very awesome experience sitting at the chefs counter!! Id definitely recommend it if your looking to have a more quiet, intimate dinning experience with a partner or small family group! I was very impressed how clean ghe chefs were, constantly cleaning as they went on through service. The food was absolutely amazing!! Very unique menu!!! We had a group of 4!!! Shout out to Maria in the kitchen, she was truly a sweet person! She talked to us and told us she loved when people take pictures of her food!! All of the food was beautifully presented and flavor was 10/10!! Id love to try more!!”

“we were looking for a special place to enjoy Mother’s day and online reviews recommended Garrison so we made a reservation. We arrived a bit early and the restaurant was a bit confused as to the number of people in our reservation. they started the poor customer service which continued throughout the time. overall customer service and timing was poor but food quality and taste was good. we got seated and ordered the cheese and bread as a starter. The bread was really good while the cheese was alright. We then ordered the pancakes, the veggie omelette, the shrimp omelette, brussels sprouts, side potatoes, and a side of toast and biscuit. The brussels sprouts were really good while the potatoes were decent. The veggie omelette was good while the shrimp omelette had really small shrimps. the biscuit tasted frozen and the pancakes were good but were small and more Japanese-style. overall, the food had good flavor but the portion size was a bit small and the customer service was not good”
