“This is a hidden gem. All of the wait staff are exceptional. They make it a Team effort by all helping each other in order for the customer to have a great experience. The food was also exceptional. Had the Baked Camembert. It’s a must try. The Berry Bacon Jam is like nothing we have ever had. Very bacon forward, but the berries add a sweetness to it. If you’re in Richmond, VA. This place is worth your time, and super reasonably priced.”
“AMAZING! When my family and I were so quickly dismissed at another restaurant because they didn’t see our reservation, I called Julep’s and they were so quick to accommodate us within minutes. The hostess was so kind to ask if I wanted to check my coat after having a little rain on it. Our server, Jennifer, utterly amazing! Her service was top notch. We just so happen to join them on a night where it was Richmond Restaurant Week. As busy as it was, Jennifer always made sure we were well taken care of. As we were there to celebrate my birthday, I saw they had a Bourbon Pecan Pie on the menu, but was told it was almost sold out. Jennifer made sure I had one saved for me as we made our way through the other two courses. Service, atmosphere, food, drinks, vibes… all 100/10! Visiting from Norfolk, I could see myself going back to see what other delectable entrees they have on a regular night.”
“The staff were welcoming and helpful. All three people we spoke with recommend the crab cakes. We decided to split one to taste it, but were ultimately entranced by the duck. Cooked to perfection and enjoyed every bite. The bartender tempted us with the pecan pie, which we couldn’t resist. It was incredible. Delightful experience.”
“My real rating is better than a 4, but these are the options we're given and 5 stars should be exceptional. It's a nice restaurant. The bar staff seemed a bit disconnected, but the drinks were fast and tasty. I had the truffled deviled eggs at the bar and they were excellent - a rare example of not letting the truffle overpower everything. Wait staff was excellent - we were a party of 10 and our server was friendly, efficient, did separate checks and overall did a perfect job as far as I'm concerned. The menu was diverse, has lots of gluten free options and everything seemed elevated: I like it when I have to deal with "everything sounds so *good*" menus. I got the filet and it was excellent - cooked well and all the sides/sauce/garnish were tasty. The restaurant itself is a bit crowded and thus a bit noisy, but only a bit. Simple and clean. Happy we went, and would go back next time I'm in Richmond.”
“We visited here on our pop up bar crawl. Juleps has been heavily marketed on socials as a holiday pop up. While the atmosphere is great and the decorations are really pretty and classy, they are not pop up level. It still gives plenty of holiday vibes and we enjoyed our visit. I had the Nieve Amarillo holiday cocktail. I’d give it a 6.5 out of 10. It was good and had all the right components but balance was off a bit. Might need a little more fig to tame the mezcal. It was still a solid beverage. My friend had the Rudolph ain’t no mule which was supposed to be a salted caramel mule. It was good but tasted like a regular mule to me…there was some caramel on the rim so maybe that was the intent. Not sure. Again, right components but maybe not mixed quite so. We also had she crab soup which was AMAZING..just a bit cool. Would have been a 10/10 if served warm. Our server was fantastic….very informative and personable. I’d love to come back here for a full meal sometime.”
