“my sister and i went there for happy hour to celebrate her birthday and our waiter dane took the most incredible care of us. very thoughtful with his recommendations, highly knowledgeable on the menu, and even gave us a few surprises that made us feel like we were vip guests. the happy hour prices were great given the cost of fish and quality of food they provide. everyone else who else brought us our dishes were also incredibly kind, friendly, and knowledgeable. we would definitely come back and we definitely recommend. thank you guys for the 10/10 night”
“It was our first time trying Uchiko for my wife’s birthday. First thing was the warm welcome from the host and happy birthday that quickly made us feel good. We didn’t know much about Japanese cuisine other than a couple of sushi names and we shared that upfront with our amazing server, Mia, and she patiently explained everything we wanted to know and learn. She came up with great suggestions and we found we can trust her after the first couple of serves, p-38 roll and Madai Nigiri. I never tried nigiri before and it was a pleasant surprise for my tastebuds! The fish was amazing in taste and texture! The roll was also delicious! After that we ordered a few more nigiri’s to try and all were amazing. For sushi roles we found the raw sushis way more interesting that the cooked ones (shag and soft shell maki) and it was surprisingly for ourselves too lol I totally recommend to try all the nigiri here and find your favorite. The staff were all friendly, welcoming and respectful and that made us quickly forget we were new to this style!”
“Exquisitely prepared fresh sushi awaits your palate at Uchiko, Austin. This restaurant offers a broad menu, updated daily, of the most delicious sushi, wagyu beef, and delicious deserts that can be found in Austin. The ambiance is vibrant. Do not expect a quiet atmosphere. Uchiko is buzzing with energy and conversation. You will find the waiters and staff educated on the food that is served and eager to please. Even during the busy time that we ate, around 6PM on a weekday, the staff catered to our every need and questions. We found the deserts to be creative and tasty. The one with Cap'n Crunch cereal was my personal favorite. I would highly recommend Uchiko for sushi lovers who are in the mood for high caliber and meticulously crafted food. The art of sushi is most certainly on display at Ushiko.”
“A perfect way to spend my partner and I’s second anniversary! The staff were beyond nice and attentive and the happy hour omakase plus the two extra pair of sashimi we ordered were divine. Standouts were the trumpet mushroom, lean tuna, and hamachi nigiri! Handroll seaweed could’ve been a bit more crisp and freah but it was the only criticism I could nitpick. Not pictured is one of the sets of hamachi nigiri we ordered or the soba that came with our happy hour omakase!”
“2nd time Austin visitor and couldn’t miss dining here! My daughter and I sat at the bar and it was a fun experience! Very one on one service! Atmosphere is versatile: not quiet, but not loud; can be cozy and entertaining at the same time! So smartly designed. Try the unfiltered Sake! The food was exceptional. Nothing looks the same. Chefs here come up with amazing combinations of fish, textures, colors, and flavors that blend perfectly. Loved the Charred Edamames! An odd one but great was the mushroom one! Oh…. Must try the banana desert…. Muahhh! Not cheap! But you can taste and feel the quality and the dedication on each serving! I declare UCHIKO my one place to go when I visit Austin!”
