“Absolutely had a great time and loved, loved, loved my cabin. All the amenities are provided. I recommend Packwood Station for anyone who wants to enjoy the slow life and enjoy watching the neighborhood elk stroll through the grounds and downtown. Thank you for a wonderful stay.”
“Here for a Scentsy Consultant Retreat/Conference and absolutely love it so beautiful, peaceful, nice little hike to a mini waterfall on Halls Creek right behind our building or out the front door for the Elk at night”
“The events center has a rustic feel which I love! It is a warm and cozy building with character and the owner, Tracy, is very generous to allow POW to utilize it for Line Dancing. What a treat! 💗”
“This facility was clean and beautiful. I chose this setting as my wedding location. I had people staying in 3 of the buildings on site and each was clean and stocked with soap, clean towels, and everything we needed. The dance floor was huge and the food area was covered in case of rain The owners are on site and help with any issues that arrive. The lawn was mowed and landscaped wonderfully. There is a view from Mt. Rainier from the town and it is like a scene from Dante’s peak...without the disaster eruption of course. Packwood is a wonderful town with a tight-knit community full of skiers, hikers, and nature-lovers of all kind.”
“Unbelievable that this place could rate 5 stars from anyone who has stayed here. A range of concerns from sanitary to safety warrant a 1 or less star rating. We visited here with a group of people for a holiday get together in Packwood. We chose the station /bunkhouse due to the large number of beds and the price advantage of one rental for a half dozen people. It's also (artificially I am now sure) well rated on Airbnb. Here were the issues we encountered : 1) major mouse problem. Not a cute, cabin in the mountain, occasional mouse problem, but mouse droppings everywhere, especially throughout the kitchen. Almost every drawer or shelf and dish and utensil in the kitchen had mouse droppings on arrival and there was plenty on the floor. 2) Lack of care by property owners. Pretty clear that someone picked the property up cheap and gamed reviews to score some quick cash through the short term rental craze. The fact that there were mouse droppings throughout the kitchen and several bedrooms (one had numerous droppings on a white pillow due to a petrified plate of cake left on a sagging shelf over the bed) showed that proper cleaning was not happening before guests arrived. 3) On the safety side of things, there were two fire detectors that were in operable. We checked since there were indications of electrical wiring / system issues, including breakers that constantly flipped, lights that went on and off without warning, etc. Since the whole home seems to depend on space heaters that was especially concerning. The septic system /plumbing may also be failing or poorly designed as we had water back up into the bathrooms during heavy rains. The property owner did send someone out to snake the line and clean up, promptly but a real remodel and consideration if they are up for running a rental property is likely needed before anyone should ever stay here again. Until then, stay far away.”
