Bamboo Sushi SE 28th

“First time to go there. They have many “creative” sushi dishes, they are not traditional sushi, and they’re good! They do have traditional style sushi as well, but their non-traditional style sushi was amazingly good! I enjoyed Chili Albacore Crisp (crispy rice sushi I’d say) and Green Machine roll (vegetarian sushi) that my daughter ordered. I ordered Calamari and Chirashi Bowl. Calamari was not notable, just ordinal except I liked they also fried lemon slices to add. I liked it. As of Chirashi Bowl, it was more like a sashimi plate with just a bit of rice on the bottom. So much Sashimi on it and they were very fresh and tasty. As a rice eater I wish I could get more rice, but it was really good! More than anything, their sashimi freshness was top notch and very impressive. I usually don’t prefer non-traditional sushi, but I did enjoyed their unique creation of sushi. I will definitely go back to enjoy more!”

“I believe my server’s name was Royal and boy did he give me the Royal treatment. The food is always spectacular at this location. That happy hour from 3-5 PM on the weekends is such an insanely good deal! The entire staff was so hospitable. This place sparkles.”

“This is my all time favorite sushi place in Portland! It is the perfect place! You get great quality raw fish and the price is truly unbeatable. I’m originally from Portland but now only go back 1-2 times a year and I make sure every time I go home I visit this place. Whenever I have a special occasion I take my friends and family to this restaurant. I have always found the service to be great and the ambience impeccable. I love the interior of this restaurant, it has a casual Japanese feel and I love it! Every single item I’ve ever tried from here is amazing and honestly you can’t go wrong with anything you get! My personal favorite is the chiefs choice nigri set. That’s is amazing!”

“Have eaten dinner here twice while working in Portland the last few months and have been very happy with the sushi here. Rivers and Streams has been our favorite, and especially so if you're a salmon lover. Have also tried the Green Machine with salmon, Rainbow Roll, the Salmon Flight, and Chicken Karaage. All good, as well. For dessert, I tried the Haupia Pie, which wasn't my favorite. Not a big fan of coconut and there's a lot of that in there. My fault for not asking or being aware of that. A friend had the Black Sesame Brownie and liked that. A good place for good sushi.”

“Your Green Machine sucks now. It used to be great. We would come specifically for that. In the last year the quality has dropped off and every time the asparagus is very hard and chewy to the point where it’s almost inedible. That’s a shame. Probably will be going elsewhere now. I”
